Capturing Light: New Landscapes by Bruce Everett
“My reasons for painting the landscape are first and foremost out of a deep emotional need to paint what moves me. Seeing a powerful scene isn't enough. I need to paint it to really be there, and in a way be done with it. But what attracts me to a subject in the first place are the formal elements---the dynamics of the composition, the textures, the shapes, the subtlety of colors and the polarities and rhythms of light and dark. It all adds up to being "of the place"---a connection that can't be explained except by painting it. It is important to me to accurately represent what I experience. I don't want to contrive a landscape so much as discover it.
There is no irony, no theory, no theme connected to most landscape painting, and certainly not mine. But there is a sort of austere seriousness and a recognition of an essential, profound intelligence in our natural environment.
Solo exhibition by Jennifer Joseph
The paintings in this exhibition are a response to the radical change in environment I’ve undertaken since moving to Los Angeles in 2017 after 26 years living and working in New Mexico. The dynamism and noise of Los Angeles has prompted a looser, faster, more gestural way of working after many years of making slow, meditative paintings in the relative quietude of the high desert. This new influx of energy has led to the disruption of my own habituation in a sweeping deviation from what has been my norm. Showing both bodies of work as an integrated whole refers to the collage-like quality of the city, and represents taking a risk (both in life and in art practice) and seeing what happens.

Solo exhibition by John Peralta
John A. Peralta is a self-taught artist whose unconventional style of sculpture incorporates iconic mechanical objects and high-tech materials to produce astonishingly beautiful and complex representations. His interpretation of what is known in engineering terms as the exploded diagram, is truly original and demonstrates his extraordinary imagination, technical expertise, and inventiveness.
John is a native of New Mexico. His family’s roots date back to the second Spanish governor, Don Pedro de Peralta, who founded the city of Santa Fe in 1607. And although he now lives in Austin Texas, his New Mexico family and heritage remain major influences on his life and work.
