Over the last 10 years, Kim Keever’s art has transitioned from creating imaginary landscapes to pure abstraction. His early photographs involved constructing miniature topographies in a 200-gallon tank, which he then filled with water. These dioramas of fictitious environments were brought to life with colored light filters and the dispersal of pigment. At the present, he is concentrated solely on color, capturing an extraordinary array of effects with his large-format camera. These ‘Water Colors’ are what has brought him international recognition.
