Her erudite multimedia oeuvre often takes from the artist’s own archive—composed mainly of historical source material, art, architecture, and digital ephemera—to explore these ideas through harmonious yet complex constructions. Though deeply entrenched in these questions, Hirsch’s work additionally emphasizes a “metaphysical conception of art.” This exhibition will present multimedia work from the series Firmamento (2019-present), The Iconography of Silence (2019), and Donotclickthru (2016), which reflect Hirsch’s intense desire to raise questions and heighten awareness around histories and situations of injustice.
