Looking for a different take on filling the holiday season with light? Head to Houston, where the Day For Night Experiential Art and Music Festival will take place from December 15th through the 17th.

Billed as a “visually immersive art and music festival exploring the boundaries of light, space, and sound,” Day for Night’s lineup includes some of the hottest contemporary performers of 2017 as well as years past: Nineties alt-favorites like Nine Inch Nails, Thom Yorke, and En Vogue will share stage space with Solange, Shlomo, Pussy Riot, and others. If the list seems like a potpourri of genres, that’s the idea: Day for Night founders are all about breaking down musical boundaries and invited performers recognized for their “inventive and highly visual” stage presence.

Accompanying the musical acts will be interactive visual installations by over two dozen contemporary artists like holographic specialist Matthew Schreiber, light and film artist James Clar, and video animator Ryoichi Kurokawa.

The festival is taking a decidedly political stance as well, with talks by Russian musician-turned political activist Nadya Tolokonnikova of Pussy Riot fame and activist and former Army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning.

Day for Night will be at the Post HTX, 401 Franklin Street in Houston. General admission tickets start at $105.00 and may be purchased here.
