Featuring more than 120 galleries from 30 countries worldwide, Frieze Seoul (September 6-9, 2023) returns to the dynamic Convention and Exhibition Center (COEX) in the city’s acclaimed Gangnam district for its second edition, which will be Frieze Seoul’s first fair in the post-pandemic world.
The world’s most prestigious art fair, the 2023 edition of Art Basel kicked off with the opening of Unlimited, a section of the fair that presented monumental projects in a space that was big enough to display 76 large-scale installations by a mix of celebrated and emerging artists working in a variety of media.
An essential pilgrimage for art enthusiasts is the fair Art Basel, which is taking place this week in Basel, Switzerland. Like a bustling carnival filled with visual art, sculpture, and installation, this renowned event traces its origins back to the 1970s in Switzerland, when a group of art lovers and artists decided to breathe life into the small town’s art scene.
Last week, TEFAF, The European Fine Arts Fair, opened its 36th edition in the quaint Dutch town of Maastrict. Just like any art fair, it was filled with celebrity shoppers, representatives of the top museums and galleries, and filled with thousands of artworks.
For its twentieth edition, Art Basel Miami Beach has nearly 300 galleries participating from all over the world, including twenty-six first-time participants.
Salon Art + Design has, over the last decade, become an unmissable event on the fall arts calendar. Now in its eleventh edition, Salon returns to the Park Avenue Armory in New York, from November 10th to 14th, featuring an impressively varied list of exhibitors.
The Focus part of the Armory Fair 2022 is a reflection of the galleries devoted to those communities. Acevedo-Yates extended a personal invite to the galleries she loves (and there were some unsolicited applications as well). Certainly, there is a greater representation of diversity in this Armory section than in past years.
This year’s inaugural Independent 20th Century edition has something for everyone. Presented by thirty-two galleries selected by founding curatorial advisor Matthew Higgs, the event includes over seventy artists, twenty-two solo and duo artist presentations, and special projects commissioned especially for this fair.
Daniel Sprick, an acclaimed master of realism, is arguably the most widely respected artist working in Denver today. Sprick’s representational oil paintings are so impressive that when the Denver Art Museum (DAM) opened its Hamilton Building in 2006, the museum devoted a gallery to Sprick and his artistic process. The DAM left the homage to Sprick still-life installation up for 10 years and gave Sprick a show of portraits, too. In Denver, Gallery 1261 represents the prominent painter and is unveiling a new Sprick landscape, Sanderson Gulch, in the Denver Art Showcase.
We are thrilled to announce that, in partnership with the Museum of Outdoor Arts (MOA), will begin August with the launch of our next vFair: The Denver Art Showcase. Curated by regular contributor Colleen Smith, the vFair will feature work from the area's most innovative galleries and artists.
